Why Give Blood? We've teamed up with the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) to register 500 Forth new donors this June. Thank you for joining us. So far we have...
Forth are proud to support the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) by asking you to give blood. Scotland faces a constant urgent need for blood and blood donors. To ensure the patients in our hospitals receive the treatment they need, we need 1,000 units of blood every single day.
Blood is used in many different ways to save lives. Many A&E patients simply could not survive without blood donors. Cancer and leukaemia patients may rely on blood as part of their treatment. Blood is on standby for every hospital birth in Scotland, and many premature babies rely on blood donors to stay alive. Just three teaspoons of blood can save the life of a premature baby.
