Alan Biggar has succesfully completed his two week drive around the UK in his vintage Morgan sports car, to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust’s East of Scotland Appeal in association with Cash for Kids.
Radio Forth's Cash for Kids'Drive with Alan Biggar ended on Monday 6th June 2011 with Alan's Morgan arriving safely home for the welcome back party at the Macdoanld Roxburghe.
Alan was welcomed home by The Lord and Lady Provost, George and Elizabeth Grubb as well as Michael Matheson MSP, Minister for Public Health.
The distance covered was 2,345 miles, the engine did not miss a beat, huge congratulations to Alan and his team for a fantastic feat driving around all Bauer Media's Cash for Kids offices. The weather proved to be a great challenge in week one but things took a turn for the better in week two.
Radio Forth's Cash for Kids launched "Cash for Kids Day" on the 27th May and Teenage Cancer Trust were also the beneficiary from this event.
Both appeals have now finished and money raised to date is £80,000.
