Preparations draw to a close ahead of tonight's main event
It’s just hours until one of the biggest events in the music calendar kicks off in the capital – The BRIT Awards 2012.
Preparations have been underway since the start of the weekend to get the huge production at London’s O2 Arena ready for 8pm tonight – scroll down below to see some official behind-the-scenes pics!
One image shows the BRITs boards emblazoned with images of this year's coveted BRIT Award statue, specially designed by legendary artist Sir Peter Blake, that each hopeful nominated artist passing by shall be hoping to prize in their hands this evening.
Other pictures show some of the areas backstage that VIP guests have access to and others the rigging process as the stage is set.
Performing live at tonight’s lavish bash are Adele, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Florence + The Machine, Noel Gallagher, Bruno Mars and Olly Murs.
Britpop heroes Blur, who are being honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Music award, will close the ceremony with a whirlwind greatest hits set.
