Forth News can reveal it'll take around sixteen years for Edinburgh to clear its council housing waiting list - and that's if no-one else joins it.
Latest figures show nearly 27 thousand households are waiting for a home, but only around sixteen hundred properties become available in a year.
There are calls for more affordable housing to be built across the city to reduce the scale of the problem.

Councillor Cammy Day said: "The council continues to build more and more affordable housing.
"But unless we get a huge investment somewhere else along the line we'll continue to have a backlog."
